Artequi - Exclusive Epoxy Art & Upcycle Art

About Artequi: The Art of Resilience & Balance

My name is Steven. The story of Artequi begins in Houthalen, located in the heart of the Belgian coal-mining region. Born and raised in the shadow of the mining shafts, I learned the value of hard work and perseverance at an early age. But life tested me much sooner than expected.

At just thirteen years old, I lost my mother—a devastating turning point in a life that had only just begun. Together with my sister, I faced challenges that no child should ever have to bear. We didn’t give up; we looked life straight in the eye and fought our way forward. The resilience I built back then is the very engine driving my creativity today.

The Origin: Passion, Wine, and Cigars

People often ask me: "Steven, why are you only sharing your work with the world now?" The answer is balance. After years of falling down and standing back up, I finally found peace in my foundation: my family. They give me the space and the grounding to share my passion.

That passion started in a very tangible way with my love for cigars. I was looking for a way to give my favorite cigars the respect and place they deserved. I began transforming vintage red wine crates and bottles into unique, handcrafted epoxy humidors. The wood, which had absorbed the rich character of the wine for years, was given a second life as a sanctuary for my cigars. (upcycle)That was the spark that started Artequi: turning history into functional art.

Craftsmanship Born from Emotion

Today, Artequi has grown into so much more. The emotions of the past and the craftsmanship of the present melt together in high-end Resin Art. Every piece I create—whether it’s a bespoke ashtray, a rum-infused artwork, or a hand-forged knife set—carries my history within it.

At Artequi, you don’t just buy a product. You buy a piece of a journey that started in a mining village and, through many twists and turns, found its way to peace, creativity, and balance.

Welcome to my world.
